The construction of the pyramid dates from approximately the year 2560 BC, when it was built as a tomb for the pharaoh khufu, and its construction continued over a period of 20 years.

– Pyramid of Khafre

It is one of the pyramids of Giza in Egypt. it is built by King Khafre. Lower in height than his father’s pyramid (Khufu), it is built on an area of ​​215 square meters and has two entrances on the northern side. It still retains some of its outer covering at the top.

-Pyramid of Menkaure

Covering a 7km stretch of the Western Desert, Saqqara, the huge cemetery of ancient Memphis, was an active burial ground for more than 3500 years and is Egypt’s largest archaeological site. The necropolis is situated high above the Nile Valley’s cultivation area, and is the final resting place for deceased pharaohs and their families, administrators, generals and sacred animals. The name Saqqara is most likely derived from Sokar, the Memphite god of the dead.

The Citadel is one of Cairo’s main attractions and probably the most popular Islamic moment in Cairo. Salah El-Din built it in 1176 AD, it was the place of most Egypt’s rulers for 700 years between the 9th and 12th century. Mohammed Ali was the last ruler in the citadel.

Muhammad Ali Mosque

The Muhammad Ali Mosque is located within the Citadel of Salah al-Din, and was built by Muhammad Ali in 1848. This mosque was called the Alabaster Mosque, referring to the marble slabs that covered its interior walls. Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary)

The hanging church is considered as the oldest Coptic church in Egypt, known as the the hanging church or the Virgin Mary church. Located at old Coptic Cairo.

It was called the Suspended Church because it was built on two of the ancient towers of the Roman fort. (Fortress of Babylon), and the Hanging Church is the oldest surviving church in Egypt. Therefore the church is a very important and absolutely unmissable stop on the tourist itinerary focused on the places linked to the Holy Family, which characterize the capital of Egypt. The internal decorations feature icons in Greek Orthodox style and have thirteen pillars, which respectively represent Christ and the twelve apostles.

 

Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus

Explore old Cairo with its famous old churches The Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, also known as Abu Serga.

It is the ancient church built on the site where the Holy Family resided during their escape journey, Its current location is what is known as the Complex of Religions in Old Cairo, within the Fortress of Babylon. Like many other early Christian churches, the Abu Serga church and its underground cave were designed according to the layout of a basilica, thus together consisting of three parts: the porch, the nave and the sanctuary (the cave is under the sanctuary). The church is notable for its unique architectural and artistic elements which reflect the spirit of Coptic church architecture in Egypt. These include the pulpit, font, ivory and wood inlaid templons, and unique religious decoration of saints and apostles.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

It is considered one of the seven wonders of the world in the Middle Ages. It is the largest Roman cemetery, and the cemetery consists of a series of tombs, statues, and archaeological remains of Pharaonic funerals.

The importance of the cemetery is due to its vastness, abundance of decorations, and the complexity of its planning. It is also one of the clearest examples of the mixing of Pharaonic art with Roman art in Alexandria, and one of the best examples of funerary architecture in Alexandria.

Then move to visit Pompey’s Pillar

Pompey’s Pillar was built in honor of Emperor Decaldianus. The total height of the column, including the base, is about 2,685 metres. On the west side are two bases, which can be reached via an underground staircase. There are also two pink granite statues that look like sphinxes.

Then move to visit The Citadel of Qaitbay

Qaitbay Citadel is considered one of the most important defensive fortifications on the Mediterranean coast. It was built on the ruins of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria to fortify the city.

After that we continue the tour to visit Bibliotheca Alexandrina

which is the largest library in the world, consisting of 8 million books. You can visit its open courtyard where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy I, which was found underwater nearb.

Return to Cairo. Transfer to the station to board your sleeping train to Aswan. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

A full-day excursion in a 4WD with visits to “Gebel El- Mawta” the Mountain of the Dead, honeycombed with rock tombs, most dating back to Ptolemaic and Roman times, the 13th Century fortress enclave of Shali, the ruins of Amoun temple, and the Oracle. During your visit to the Oracle, you see the Coronation Hall of Alexander the Great. If the mood strikes you, take a swim in the Cleopatra Spring before visiting Gebel Dakrour (Dakrour Mountain), known for its hot sand baths rumored to cure rheumatism.

Today we are off to explore more sites of the fascinating oasis, visiting the desert hot spring at “Bir Wahid” at the edge of the Great Sand Sea, then on to the fossil sites to see some fantastic desert vistas. Later, we continue to the East of Siwa, to visit the spring of Abu Shuruf, the biggest and cleanest in the oasis, where the clear water spills into huge salt Lake Zeitun. In the evening, we drive to our specially selected spot among the sand dunes, where a barbecue lunch will be served around the fire lit to spread its rays in the clear skies of the oasis.

Escort by Jeep to visit the White Desert. On the way long you will visit: Crystal Mountain, Sand Dune Flowers Mountain, Black Desert and the Valley. You will reach the White Desert by Sunset where you will have your dinner around the fire.

They belong to King Amenhotep III, one of the kings of the 18th dynasty, which is the strongest ruling family in the history of ancient Egypt
